I hosted a luncheon at this cozy restaurant, a recommendation from my partner in crime. I made sure to call and see if they do separate checks for a large group and if they took reservations. Since the answer was yes, I went ahead and made the reservation. Cassandra who took my call was very patience and helpful. A few days before the reservation I made a call back to confirm how many would be attending as I was instructed to do. It was a different person that confirmed my reservation and took the info of how many in our group. He asked would we want a separate room for our group and I opted for that. Upon my arrival the day of our reservation our server directed us to the 'Nest', which was room off to the side towards the entrance. Server was quick to ask if we wanted anything to drink while we set up for the luncheon. Our group put our food order in and food started flowing in after 15 minutes afterwards. I ordered the Chicken pie with Whipped Potatoes. I ordered a side of corn. Rolls came with everyone's order. My dish was delicious. Although I was surprised there were no carrots or peas in the filling of the pie. It was still good, flavorful and niche pieces of chicken. I just added my corn to the mix. The gravy and whipped potatoes was great. The rolls were a pretty good size and came with plenty of pkg'd butter. I had no room for dessert but I did get the very large cinnamon roll ($10) to go for dessert later. The decor is country, and cozy. Pretty roomy inside, with table seating and booth as well. It looks like they have two registers. One may be used specifically for To-Go orders. Service was a mix. Some acknowledged you, some were friendly. Our server for our luncheon was great, quick and patient. Curbside parking as well as parking in the back of the restaurant. We look forward to returning.

This is my first time ever posting a Yelp review normally I don't care to, but after today I had to leave one. I've been coming to the chicken pie shop with my family since I was a little girl (I'm 27 now), my mom came here with her dad (she's 61 now) and service (in both our opinions) was ok/subpar but nothing to write home about, (and on some days just plain bad but everyone has off days) but the food was good and the pie was great so of course we always kept coming back. It was my uncles favorite place to go. Today was the 1 year anniversary of his passing so we went in memoriam to him. Our waitress was Jessica and I can honestly say (as well as my mom) it was hands down the best service we have ever had. She was attentive and kind. My father is disabled and hard of hearing she was super patient with him, as well as double checked his food due to his lactose issues. She even went so far to separate his roll so it wouldn't get cross contaminated with the butter. She really went the extra mile. Our drinks never went empty. When my sister stepped outside to take a phone call regarding some family stuff Jessica was absolutely sweet and kept checking in to check her pie order. I wish I was able to really truly convey how great her service was and how much it was appreciated on today of all days; she made an extremely difficult day an enjoyable one with her kindness. My family and I agreed that while we always plan to come back we officially only want to come on a day Jessica is working.

I like the old charm of a restaurant that has survived decades. It has its quirks and eccentricities, but that added to the character. The food was good. The rolls were a little dry and the pie seemed like it has a lot of gelatin, but overall a good value and experience.

My husband and I tried the chicken pie shop for the first time, and when I say I was impressed is an understatement. We each got the chicken pie dinner. It came with sooo much food that we both now have lunch for tomorrow as well. My husband said, the coleslaw was the best he's ever had. The chicken pie itself was delicious. We ordered from a food delivery app, and the food was still warm when we got it. We have told both our families about it and have already planned a dinner date with his parents. Excited to try other dishes 10 out of 10 would recommend

One of the best Chicken Pot Pies I have ever had! Loved the ambiance! The portion sizes were HUGE. The rolls you get with your meal, are seriously delicious. Probably the high light of the whole meal. The service was great and very quick!! The reason for the 4 stars is because the veggies seemed like they came straight out of a can. If you are looking for a nice home cooked meal and delicious chicken pot pie, this place is a must!

We waited about 4 minutes to be seated in this retro style restaurant. After we decided what we wanted, we were served in under 5 minutes!!! The chicken pies were tasty... Mild and delicious. We chose gravy on the side to avoid having too much. They serve multiple flavors of homemade pies as well... Look delicious, but we were too full... Maybe next time. We saw homemade cookies for .99 on the way out. Love the 4 percent discount for cash!! Wheelchair could two of us eat for $21.27 in CA??

After driving by this place countless times, I finally decided to give SDCPS a try after an evening of debauchery - because what better way to cap off a wild night than with a good ol' chicken pie? The interior is large and the furniture is... well, let's call it "eclectic." But hey, it's part of the character and charm of the place. The service is decently friendly, and they get the job done - no complaints there. Now, onto the food! The go-to dish, of course, is the chicken pie. It's filled with chunks of chicken in a flaky pie crust, and you won't find an overload of veggies in it, which is just how I like it. The country fried steak is also tasty, and if you're in the mood for breakfast, their huge Belgian waffle is a winner! The only downside for me is the hash browns. They're cooked well, but they have this odd flavor from the oil used on the flattop. Not my favorite. Before you leave, make sure to grab a slice of their delicious pie or some cookies to round off your gluttony. Trust me, you won't regret it! Welp! Onto the next!
